Lecco is very popular destination for Italian and foreign tourists for the Manzoni places, museums and churches, monuments and historic buildings, but above all for the great richness of its landscape. Continue readingLecco is mainly known for “The Betrothed” – the first novel of Italian literature written by Alessandro Manzoni. But in addition to “that branch of Lake Como …” there is more in Lecco. History and culture intertwine and we can discover and rediscover them thanks to the civic museums. Walking through the streets of the center we breathe the neoclassical style of Bovara, which left its elegant mark on Lecco, which mixes with the remains of the fortified village, starting from the Azzone Visconti bridge. But we can say with absolute certainty that a unique and highly valuable aspect is the landscape and natural context that Lecco offers: the lake nestled between the mountains. And these mountains have been the training ground for world-famous mountaineers, such as Cassin, Mauri and Bonatti.
