The Castello di Oliveto is a unique reality, consisting of 1200 hectares and dominated by splendid architecture designed by one of the greatest geniuses the artistic world has known.
The path that has led the scientific world to declare that this castle is the work of the Florentine architect has been a long and troubled one, and it began almost by chance, when an art history enthusiast living in Milan, but originally from this area, said: 'I am not an insider, simply a great enthusiast and, from my modest point of view, I see Brunelleschi's hand in this architecture, so I would like to suggest some investigations'.
At first, Professor Gabriele Morolli, full professor of History of Architecture in Florence, took an interest, and then Professor Massimo Ricci, former professor at the University of Florence and expert of the UNESCO Forum 'University and Heritage', the world's greatest scholar of the Dome of Santa Maria del Fiore, continued the research.
Thanks to him, the research on a whole series of details, such as the layout of the towers, the type of lintels, the terrace supported by a half-vault, was accelerated and led the illustrious academic to confirm what the Milanese of Valdelsa origins had imagined.
In the past, this stupendous architecture has hosted illustrious guests such as Victor Emmanuel III and several Popes, just as it lends itself to hosting events today.
The castle has large spaces, both indoors and outdoors, that allow for the organisation of a variety of activities such as corporate meetings, exclusive gala dinners, conferences, weddings and tastings of typical products.
