The Villa d'Epoca that we offer for rent is located in one of the most beautiful and green valleys in the province of Como, Valle d'Intelvi, which connects the two lakes of Como and Lugano, is in the municipality of Dizzasco, in a quiet location on the border with Argegno.
It covers an area of over 800 square meters and consists of nine spacious rooms with flush windows, each with unique views of the lake and mountains.
On the ground floor: large entrance hall, living room with fireplace, dining room, modern kitchen with fireplace, a bathroom and a large terrace facing the Lake.
On the next floors are bedrooms and bathrooms.
In the lush 3000 square meter private garden there are two ancient fountains and rare well-preserved sculptures dating back to the 18th century.
The Villa d'Epoca can comfortably accommodate up to six people.
It was completely restored in 2011, preserving the original interiors and introducing new technologies for modern comfort. The original stucco moldings and ceilings have been restored, the floors are handmade tiles with different types of rare limited edition marble, and the walls are decorated with frescoes using the ancient Italian graffito technique. Original stucco and ceilings have been reconstructed and the floors arranged. The lobby and parlor are carpeted with wallpaper, whose stamps are protected by UNESCO and date back to the early 17th century. The fireplace room and all rooms are furnished with natural silks from the best family manufactures of Lake Como. The 18th-century Murano chandelier (the only one of its kind in the world) was previously at the Chinese Embassy in Paris.
The Villa d'Epoca boasts the most luxurious flower garden on Lake Como. Which historically is one of the most luxurious and fashionable places in our country. Royalty and nobles had palaces and beautiful villas built on its shores with flower gardens planted with rare and even exotic plants. Musicians, poets and artists loved to stay there and sang of its beauty in their immortal works. The Villa was built in 1766 by an Austrian aristocratic family and named after the owner Countess Gina, who apparently inspired Stendhal for the character of Angelina Cornelia Isotta Valserra del Dongo, Gina in The Charterhouse of Parma.
At the end of the ninth century, the Villa d'Epoca came into the possession of the Longoni family, and it preserves intact the paintings of Baldassarre Longoni, an artist appreciated by both critics and the public so much so that Dizzasco's main street is named after him.
The current owners are passionate about Italian History, and this is reflected in every detail of the Villa D'Epoca, which is filled with authentic objets d'art: paintings by Italian artists, silk tapestries, antique furniture with the coats of arms of Italy's oldest families, Murano glass chandeliers of different shapes and sizes that illuminate every corner of the Villa D'Epoca rich in art and culture.
The Villa d'Epoca is ideal for those who want to immerse themselves in the elegant atmosphere of the past, amidst wonders of luxury, nature, and history.
